The current state of Zack Orji - Actors' Guild Of Nigeria

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) reported an improvement in the health of Nollywood actor Zack Orji, who had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the National Hospital in Abuja on New Year’s Eve.

According to Abubakar Yakubu, the National Secretary of the AGN, the actor's condition is getting better. First Lady Remi Tinubu and Vice President's wife, Nana Shettima, visited him at the hospital on January 1st while they were there to meet the first baby of the year.

Upon admission, Mr. Orji was unable to walk or speak, but as of the latest update, he has begun speaking. The 63-year-old actor had collapsed in his house's toilet, as captured in footage that emerged on Sunday, and was seen in pain while lying in bed.

Prior to this health setback, Mr. Orji had been battling fatigue for several weeks, which rendered him unable to communicate or move. The AGN secretary mentioned that details about his health were initially unclear, and medical tests were conducted. The Guild plans to keep the public informed about any developments.

In 2022, Zack Orji made headlines by declaring his support for President Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate during the 2023 general elections. He expressed his endorsement through a two-minute video shared on his social media platforms and served as the director of performing arts for the APC’s presidential campaign council.

Zack Orji, known for his roles in movies like ‘Living in Bondage,’ ‘Iva,’ and ‘Blood Sisters,’ featured prominently in the 2023 film ‘Black Harvest,’ embodying the patriarch of a wealthy family grappling with hidden secrets and desires. Additionally, he starred in ‘Alerte,’ an action-packed thriller alongside Rita Edochie and Sani Danja, notable names in Nollywood.
